Questions

- 01 Where is Artistry Clinic located?
- Artistry Clinic is at Unit 116, 7300 Warden Ave, Markham, Ontario L3R 9Z6, Canada. Call 437.655.2688 or email artistrymedical@gmail.com to book.
- 02 Who performs the treatments?
- Treatments are performed by Registered Nurses. RNs in Ontario are regulated by the College of Nurses of Ontario and must meet its practice standards.
- 03 Do I need a consultation before treatment?
- Yes. A skin assessment and medical history review are required before any treatment. The assessment determines which treatment is appropriate and how many sessions are needed.
- 04 What happens at the first consultation?
- Your nurse reviews your medical history, medications, allergies and previous treatments, then assesses your skin. You will be told what is suitable, what is not, what the risks are, and what it costs before anything is booked. You are not obliged to proceed on the same visit.
- 05 What should I bring to my first visit?
- Bring photo identification and a list of your current medications, supplements and known allergies. If you have had aesthetic treatments elsewhere, bring the dates and, if you have them, the product names — this affects what can safely be done and when.
- 06 Why are there no client reviews on this website?
- The College of Nurses of Ontario prohibits client testimonials in advertising where nursing practice involves direct contact with individual clients. Because our treatments are performed by Registered Nurses, we do not publish testimonials.
- 07 Why are there no before-and-after photos on this website?
- Two reasons. Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act requires written consent before any identifiable client image is published, and comparison photographs function as a claim about results, which our regulatory obligations do not permit us to advertise. Your nurse will discuss realistic expectations with you in person instead.
- 08 Why does this site use generic treatment names instead of brand names?
- Several treatments we offer involve prescription drugs. Health Canada’s Food and Drug Regulations limit what may be said about a prescription drug in advertising directed at the public to its name, price and quantity. We use generic service names on this site and discuss specific products with you during your consultation, where those restrictions do not apply.
- 09 How much does a treatment cost?
- Starting prices are listed on the treatments page. Final cost depends on the number of sessions your assessment indicates. Members receive 15% off treatments.
- 10 Is it safe?
- Every treatment carries some risk, and the honest answer depends on your medical history. All products and devices we use are authorized for sale in Canada by Health Canada, treatments are performed by Registered Nurses, and your suitability is assessed before anything is booked. Specific risks for your treatment are explained during consent, in person.
- 11 What are the risks and side effects?
- Common short-term effects across injectable and energy-based treatments include redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at the treated area. Less common effects vary by treatment and are explained individually before you consent. If something concerns you after a treatment, call the clinic rather than waiting for your next appointment.
- 12 Does it hurt?
- Most people describe the sensation as brief and manageable. Fine needles are used for injectable treatments and topical numbing is available where appropriate. Tell your nurse if you are anxious about discomfort — it changes how the appointment is paced.
- 13 How long do results last?
- It varies by treatment and by person. Metabolism, treatment area, dose and how often you return all affect longevity, which is why a single number would be misleading. Your nurse will give you a realistic range for your specific treatment at your assessment.
- 14 How many sessions will I need?
- This is determined at assessment, not in advance. Some treatments are single-session; others are planned as a course. You will be told the expected number and the interval between sessions before you commit to anything.
- 15 Is there any downtime?
- It depends on the treatment. Some have none; others involve redness or swelling for a few days. Ask before you book if you have an event coming up — the timing of your appointment can usually be planned around it.
- 16 Can I wear makeup afterwards?
- This depends on the treatment and is covered in your aftercare instructions. For most injectable treatments makeup is avoided for the rest of the day; for treatments that disrupt the skin surface the interval is longer. You will be given written aftercare before you leave.
- 17 Can I have more than one treatment in the same visit?
- Sometimes, but not always. Some treatments cannot be combined on the same day, and some need spacing for safety rather than convenience. Your assessment will confirm what can be done together and in what order.
- 18 Can I be treated while pregnant or breastfeeding?
- Tell us before your appointment if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding. Many aesthetic treatments are not offered in these circumstances, and your assessment will confirm what is and is not appropriate. This is not a judgement about your care — it is that adequate safety evidence does not exist for a number of these treatments.
- 19 Will I look natural?
- Our approach is conservative: treat less, review, and build gradually rather than doing everything in one visit. Tell your nurse what you want to avoid as clearly as what you want to change — that information shapes the plan more than anything else.
- 20 How do I book an appointment?
- Call 437.655.2688 or email artistrymedical@gmail.com. Tell us what you are considering and whether you have been treated before; we will book you for an assessment first.
